Monday 19th June 2023; Handover dinner at Swinhay

Forty-eight members, partners and invited guests attended the annual formal 'Handover dinner' from President John Francksen to incoming President Richard Moran, held at Swinhay on 19th June 2023.

Tha annual 'Handover' dinner was, as usual, held at Swinhay, thanks to David and Terry McMurtry. Brilliantly organised by Tina Moran, with help from Tracy Francksen and others, over thirty rotarians enjoyed a beautiful summers evening, and an excellent meal, before the formal part of the evening.

Outgoing President John thanked all those who had made his year in office such a success. Including his London Marathon event we raised over £32,000 in the year.

He also made the following awards:

'Good Egg award': Tina Moran. (For being such a supportive IPP who organised the Valentines Ball, Aston Martin event, President's Night and Handover.

'Stirrer of the Year award': Rob Marrow. (But in a good way, by getting us stirred up and doing different things.)

'Kiwi Travel award': Gillian Hayward. (For getting to New Zealand, so the furthest away!)

'Rotarian of the Year': Gillian Hayward. (For all her efforts on Community Service events this year.)

A 'Paul Harris' award was then presented to Chris Whetherly

After the formal handover of the 'Chain of Office' incoming President Richard set out his aims and objectives for the next year, which included more 'partners' and fun activities, as well as supporting his and other chosen charites.
