Ukraine Support Gala Afternoon

An afternoon of events at the Brandon Community Hall
Durham Elvet Rotary was proud to play a part in the ‘Ukraine Support Gala Afternoon’ held at the Brandon Community Hall today and attended by almost 200 people. A wonderful event which featured Ukrainian and local singers and musicians, children’s games and activities, craft stalls and much more. Local MP Mary Kelly Foy was there to welcome those from Ukraine who currently have their home here in our area and this was an opportunity to hear their stories and learn more about their homeland.
Monies raised from the day will go to Ukraine to help support the ongoing education of children in shelters where their safety and security is enhanced.

Members of Durham Elvet Rotary Club braved the elements - sleet and rain - to watch a semi final cup match between Brandon United U18 and Benfield U18. Unfortunately, Brandon United lost 1 - 3.
