Newquay Rotary Golf Day
The Rotary Club of Newquay recently held their annual Golf Day. The event attracted entries from an amazing 38 teams comprising Newquay’s finest players who came to pit their wits and their clubs against our beautiful coastal golf course.
Nick Barnes, President of the Rotary Club of Newquay, proposed that the proceeds from the entrance fee, raffle and additional donations made should be divided between two local charities and The Rotary Club of Newquay. £2,500.00 has been given to Children’s Hospice South West and £900.00 to Rehab for Rosey.
Alice Merrett, Area Fundraiser for Children’s Hospice South West said; “We were delighted to be one of the beneficiaries for the Newquay Rotary Golf Day. To have this support from the local community is so important to us and means we can continue to offer vital care and support to local children and families through our Little Harbour children’s hospice in St Austell.”
Chris and Julia McQuillen Wright, Rosey’s parents, were overwhelmed with the donation “We can’t thank you enough, we are so grateful to our home town of Newquay for coming together and supporting our daughter in this difficult time. Each and every penny donated will go to help supporting Rosey in her recovery”.
Personal thanks from The Rotary Club of Newquay, are awarded to Jonathan Start whose outstanding organisational skills were undoubtedly the key to its success. The Rotary Club of Newquay is delighted to accept Jonathan’s offer to organise the next event in 2023.
