Swanage Rotary Present Tricycle to Local School

Tue, Jan 20th 2009 at 12:00 am - 2:00 am

Swanage & Purbeck Rotary have presented St. Mark's School in Swanage with a Tricycle for use in their wet weather playtimes.

Wet playtimes in schools can often be a problem. The children need some exercise but in a controlled way when they are inside. St Mark's first school thought that a tricycle which held three children would be an asset for these occasions and the children could take it in turns to ride it around the hall.

The Swanage and Purbeck Rotary Club became aware of their need and on 20th January four members of the club met with the reception class when Rotary President David Chalcraft presented the tricycle to the school and their teacher accepted it on behalf of the school. The children then took it in turns to try out the machine and voted it a great success.

The Rotary club works with all the schools in Swanage and helps according to their varying needs.
