35 Members and 45 Guests met at Oake Manor.
Before the meal, President Kathryn announced that she had the great honour to award Paul Harris Fellowships to Nigel Birkett and Malcolm Turner, both of whom had given outstanding service to Rotary and the community. [Nigel had been President in 2004-5 and joint President in 2014-15, while Malcolm was President in 2010-11.] She presented each with a certificate and lapel badge, to warm applause from the other PHFs present, and assembled company.
The meal was a mixture of table service and buffet main course, during which Magician/ illusionist Chris James passed among the guests performing card and sleight-of-hand coin tricks.
After a break, it was time to be entertained by some clever card and mind-reading performances involving random diners, culminating in a wristwatch-removal illusion and a levitation of Val Bain between two chairs, one of which was removed to leave her balanced on the other.
A late finish, but a Meeting to be remembered.
Ball draw again failed to find the Joker, but left Michael Cooper with the wine.
