Niamh Shaw was supported by Nantwich Rotary Club to attend RYLA, which is Rotary's leadership training programme for young people.
The RYLA event takes the format of a residential activity training course, for selected young people aged 16-18, at the Arthog Activity Centre near Barmouth in North Wales.
The week involves many different activities; such as climbing, canoeing, navigation, team competitions and the art of orienteering. However, the main emphasis is on developing leadership skills, as well as complex problem solving, together with developing trust, confidence and personal growth. Niamh came to the Club meeting to describe her experiences, and receive her certificate, and here is her presentation.
