Barbecue & Strawberry Tea
With stormy, showery weather forecast for Sunday 11th August, the Club was extremely lucky to stage the annual Rotary barbecue in dry conditions.
Over 70 Rotarians and friends attended the occasion which was held, as usual in the grounds of Ken and Peggy Beresford’s home, for which the Club is very grateful. An excellent meal, serving chicken and steak with an extensive salad, was prepared by Nigel Crane, Margaret Blackwell, Keith Ludlam, Jan Ludlam and Judi Baxter. Delicious sweets, including strawberries and cream, were there to tempt everyone and there was tea and coffee to finish.
Bill Whittaker organised another boules competition, which was won by Jackie Donovan, and Inner Wheel organised a raffle.
