Giant Effort In Helmsdale Games!

Helmsdale Highland Games always takes us by surprise—we expected rain and wind and we get sunshine and perhaps the odd passing shower.
We expected a very local community day of fun and athletics and we got hundreds of overseas visitors and even East European athletes.
We expect men in kilts, girls that dance like goddesses and blokes that hurl hammers and chuck huge cabers.
And we got all of the above and a big crowd of people eager to buy our Tombola Tickets and donate to our charities—Shelterbox and Auquabox
And our team of happy fun-loving Rotary members provided giant portions of cheer and fellowship to all and sundry making it a very happy occasion
BUT what we did not expect was to come face to face ( or in Michelle’s case face to kneecap) with two towering giants Laird and Lady McNeep who visited the Rotary stand!

What a great day and well done Helmsdale for putting on such a great show and thanks to all the generous people who came to our sell out stand.
