Music in the Park Farnborough Rotary Club

Subject:  10th Music in the Park makes it up to the Half Million for the Hospice!!

Farnborough Rotary Club is delighted to announce that the 10th Music in the Park has raised enough money for Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice Care to ensure that the total donated over the past 10 events has exceeded £500,000.  The event which took place over the weekend of the 13th and 14th July at the King George V Playing Fields in Farnborough, resulted in a magnificent £60,000 being raised.

The chair of the organising committee, Tim Vile, said, “Despite the rain in the weeks running up to the event, the people of Farnborough and the surrounding area, some from as far away as Scotland, supported the event in great numbers, and for this we are most grateful”.

This year’s event was especially important, as it was also Phyllis Tuckwell’s 40th anniversary of providing such an excellent and needed service within our local community.

From just the humble idea of two Rotarians 20 years ago, we now have a successful event thanks to the great support of the local community that provides a huge income source for a truly worthwhile local beneficiary.

Rotary is all about helping our local community in a variety of ways.
