All About Rotary – New Members Seminar

Sat, Sep 21st 2019 at 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

This short seminar is suitable for all Rotarians, particularly new or relatively new members. It will help attendees understand the wider world of Rotary.

The seminar will start with coffee at 9am at the Sysop Offices, Byrom House, Green Lane, Heywood, Lancashire OL12 2DY.

Attendees will discuss how District and Rotary GB&I function, our place in the worldwide family of Rotary; the opportunities that exist for self-advancement and doing good in the world.

In particular we will discuss:

  • What we mean by Rotary fellowship
  • Visiting other clubs nationally and internationally
  • The Rotary Foundation – our charity
  • Opportunities to travel on Rotary service
  • Rotary conference weekends
  • How to get involved with larger Rotary projects
  • Dispelling the myths of the Rotary rule-book
  • The District and Rotary GB&I structure and where your subs go

Coffee will be served from 9am, again mid-morning and we expect to be finished by 1pm.
