Worcester Severn Rotary Youth Competitions 2019-2020

Young Artist

Young artists are invited to share their creative talents and win recognition and prizes by taking part in our new Young Artist (YA) competition.

The 'official' theme is 'Through my eyes', though, before we knew that there would be a Rotary organised YA competition, Pam Clayton our coordinator for this one, planned to run the competition in local schools with the theme 'Looking Out' and will now decide whether to follow the 'official' line, or do her own thing on behalf of WS RC!

Entrants are asked to submit a piece of artwork, our judge will be Phil Clayton, and the winning entrant will go on to the district heats and then, if they're lucky, on to the national final.

The competition is open to artists aged between 7 and 17.

Young Writer

Like the brand new YA competition, the well-established Young Writer (YW)  competition offers participants chance to express themselves and get creative with the written word.

After being given a theme, participants can choose to write fiction or non-fiction, a story or a poem. It’s a chance to be imaginative. The 2019-2020 theme for YWs is 'Connections' and the coordinator for this one is Polly Stretton.
