Taunton Rotary Club members expressed their thanks and appreciation to outgoing President David Lewis for his service over the past year at a ceremony held at Taunton racecourse on 27th June.
Having spoken of the highlights of the club's centenary year, President David handed over the new Chain of Office to incoming President Harry McFaul.
The lunchtime handover event was made special with entertainment provided by the talented young singer Lucy Speke from Wellington School who was runner up in the national final of the Rotary Young Musician competition which took place recently..
As a final duty, President David had the pleasure of handing a cheque for £3,000 to Simon Guillebaud MBE, the Founder and International Director of Great Lakes Outreach Burundi, a charity which supports disadvantaged people in one of the poorest countries in the world.
