Rotarian Miles Leadbeater is appointed new District Governor for District 1190.

Miles Leadbeater is delighted to be District Governor for Cumbria and Lancashire 2019-20. Miles has been a member of Clitheroe Rotary since 1993, becoming Club President for the year 2009-10. Miles is the first member of Clitheroe to be District Governor.

Miles was born and brought up in Oldham, and moved to Clitheroe in 1974, where he worked in the wine trade. In 1987 he changed careers, and became a driving instructor, latterly specialising in remedial tuition. 
Whilst living in Oldham he became founding Vice Chairman of Oldham Medlock Vale Round Table. On moving to Clitheroe he transferred to Round Table there, and in 1984 became the first member of the Club to become the Area Chairman of the Ribble and Lune Area. 
Miles has been married to Lynda for 49 years, and they will celebrate their golden wedding during his year as Governor. They have two sons, Mark and David, and four grandchildren. Miles is actively involved in their local church, being in the choir and the treasurer, and is also on the Deanery and Diocesan Synods. When he gets time he likes to pursue his hobby of photography.
