Rotary Club of Kirkcudbright Handover Barbeque

The Rotary Club of Kirkcudbright held its annual handover Barbeque on 25th June when outgoing President Gordon Cowan handed his chain of office to this year’s new President Alex Kinnell. Gordon said that it had been a great honour to lead the Club over the past year and thanked the members for all their support.  In turn Alex thanked Gordon and said he was looking forward to another successful year.

An added highlight of the evening was the presentation of a Paul Harris Fellow Award to Past President Paul Tebay. This award was given to Paul in recognition of his service to the Rotary Club and in particular to the youth of the town and surrounding areas.

The weather was kind and around 70 members and partners enjoyed a pleasant evening of fun and fellowship in the garden of the Selkirk Arms Hotel. Coincidentally a Rotary member from Hong Kong was also present for a short time and he passed on his greetings from his own Club’s President.
