Presentation of Cheque President's Charities 2018/19

Our club was able to present a cheque for £2000 to the Devon Air Ambulance Trust, which was the chosen Charity for the Rotary Year by President Sylvia Griffin. David Hartley from the trust came and gave a talk to the Club about the worthwhile work that the Charity Trust does, something that personally we hope we will never need but we are all pleased to know that the service is there for those that desperately need help in difficult and life-threatening occasions. The money has been collected over the year, but the Club’s twin Club in France, Carentan Utah Beach, decided that they would match our funds which then enabled the Club to make this worthwhile cheque of £2000. President Sylvia has served for three years and chooses a charity each year and the Club are grateful for her dedication over those three years. She will hand over the reins In July. New members are always welcome, which is the opportunity of giving something back to the community, something which the Club has done over the last sixty years.
