Elderly Persons Afternoon Tea

For many years the club have provided food and entertainment for many of the elderly persons locally

The Annual Afternoon Tea for local Elderly Persons on Wednesday 29th of May 2019

This is the fourth year we have run this event in Jordans Village Hall though this year the weather was unkind in deciding to rain. Fortunately this did not dampen the atmosphere in the hall and those present seemed quite relaxed and emjoying themselves. This was no douby helped by the pianist, Alec Penny who played thoughout the meal with a singsong afterwards which was rewarded with the lovely voices of our guests. It was organised by Rotarian Philip Bradfield who despite being quite ill recently actively took part in the arrangements. The food which went down well was provided by members and beautifully prepared by some of our lady members assisted by some partners. It illustrates how the music went down by the fact that they were dancing in the kitchen but could not be persuaded to put on a show in the main hall. Our numbers this year were unfortunately a little down on previous years and it would be interesting to know why. Perhaps there are too many other activities going on at this time of the year, something we can review.

Our entertainment pianist and his lovely Piano.
