Evening meeting - Annual Awards evening

On Thursday 30th May 2019 President Anne Sampson, welcomed 131 Cub Rotarians and partners, Pupils, Teachers, Parents, family and friends to this our annual awards ceremony held in the Gilvenbank Hotel, Glenrothes. 

On reception was Geoff Sampson and Marilyn Robertson who said grace.

What a brilliant evening for our annual awards. Thanks to all our helpers but special thanks to Rotarian Wilna Roger and President Anne Sampson for organising the night. Thanks also to Rotarian Derek Noble for taking the photographs and to Rotarian Tracy Thomson for doing the raffle and VOT, and Rotarian Brian Johnson for talking about End Polio also soon to be Rotarian's Marilyn and Eoin Robertson for their help and support. Special thanks to Jenny Gilruth MSP for presenting the prizes again this year. and the Gilvenbank Hotel for their great food and service. The Interactors of Glenrothes High had organised a 15-mile sponsored walk to support our clubs joint Malawi Water Aid Project with the Rotary Club of Inverness and Culloden and were proud to present a cheque for £1301.92 to Brian Johnson Foundation chair. President Anne Sampson had the pleasure of presenting a cheque for £400 to Jennifer Gill of Love Oliver. We also had great entertainment from the winners of our Young Musician competition Kirsten Fraser from Glenwood HS winner of the vocalist section, Lily Mentiplay from Auchmuty HS and Lauchlan Graham from Glenrothes HS (2nd and 3rd) such immense talent from these young pupils

We also highlighted where our club helps in the community and beyond and the charities and causes, we have contributed throughout the year

This coming week Thursday 6th June 2019 is a lunch time meeting to be held at the Gilvenbank Hotel, Glenrothes meeting at the earlier time of 12.30pm for commencing promptly at 12.45pm. This week is our annual Club assembly where incoming President Ewen Macdonald will roll out his plans to the members for his forthcoming year.
