Entente cordiale at Rotary weekend!
Rotarians from Lens joined our Leatherhead members for a social weekend in Brighton celebrating a year of Presidency under Bob Weldon-Gamble.
From Friday 5th to Sunday 7th April 2019, around fifty members, partners and friends of Leatherhead Rotary Club attended the club’s annual President’s Weekend in Brighton to celebrate Leatherhead Rotarian, Bob Weldon-Gamble’s, year as Club President. The club were also delighted to be joined at the event by a dozen members and partners of the Rotary Club of Lens Louvre in France, one of the Leatherhead club’s two international ‘twin’ clubs.
Throughout the three days, everyone present enjoyed a variety of activities, including a guided tour of Brighton and its numerous attractions, and a black tie dinner and disco, before rounding off the weekend with a special Sunday lunch of fish and chips on the pier!
Bob Weldon-Gamble, Leatherhead Rotary President, who had also organised the weekend’s activities, said he was very grateful to everyone who had supported the weekend, adding, ‘I would especially like to thank all the members and partners of the Lens Louvre club who came over from France to join us for this special celebration.’
