Quiz Night at the Writtle Sports & Social Club in aid of Essex Dementia Care

Colourful Quiz Time logo

The quiz at Writtle Sports and Social Club on 13 April 2019 was a new event for our Club and we spent many sleepless nights worrying that no one would turn up. We need not have worried as twelve teams took part including one from the chosen beneficiary, Essex Dementia Care. The winning team, “Don’t tell him, Pike”,Groups of people sitting at tables each won a Thorntons Easter Egg decorated with the words “Quiz winners 2019” and the bottom team had a box of mini eggs.

We raised almost £700 from the quiz, raffle and “heads and tails” plus a further £58 from separate bucket collection as people were leaving.

Special thanks go to Jenny Black who organised the evening, Richard Black for his bespoke pivot table which made it easy to pick out the winning team, and Stephen Moriaty for acting as Quizmaster and sourcing extra questions and parts of the marathon round. We also had help from Katharine Loveday of Kids Inspire who sent over the questions they used at their quiz and Janice Goodman who provided the Dingbats.
