Adam Nichols described the time he spent on Ascension Island and gave us a fascinating talk on the history, geography and developent of the island.
Ascension Island is an isolated volcanic island in the middle of the South Atlantic between South America and Africa. Despite it being so isolated, it has been of strategic importance for mariners, in the past, and for the military and communications in the present and future.
