The History of Warwick Hospital - George Quantrill

A very rewarding meeting!

Being the fourth Tuesday of the month, on the 26th of March 2019, President John Green was pleased to welcome our Ladies. We were also joined by Bob and Jo Carey who had assisted the Club in the past with the Santa Sleigh Project, to treceive a Certificate of Appreciation. Also in attendance were Janet McConkey from the Coventry Childrens Boot Fund and Rosie Brady from the Earlsdon Resource Centre for the Blind. Both Janet and Rosie received cheques for their charities, being the proceeds from the Santa Sleigh Project. We were able to honour them all with a meal. Past Ptresident Dick Dixon was presented with a Certificate from President John for his continued support of the Club. The speaker, George Quantrill, gave us a talk about Warwick Hospital from when it was first opened in the mid 19th century to the present day. Rotarian Brian Sharp gave a vote of thanks and President John presented a cheque to the Society wishing the group well for the future. Rotarian Brian Sharp took the photographs. During the meal we were treated to wine by Norman Paget who was celebrating his 89th Birthday, and a close friend of President John. President John presented flowers to the Ladies. A very nice way of closing the meeting.
