Chernobyl Childre's Lifeline

A very informative speaker meeting was held on Tuesday the 15th of February when our guest speakers Gerrie and Chris Bayley gave us all an insight into the excellent work carried out the Chernobyl Children's Lifeline charity.

Gerrie and her team work tirelessly to give children from the Northern Ukraine and Belarus, who still suffer the effects of low radiation following the nuclear accident of Chernobyl in 1986, the opportunity to enjoy uncontaminated food, fresh air, sunshine and exciting trips out while on their trip to North Wales. Their stay in North Wales usually last a month - although they stay with host families, the cost is usually around £600 per child.

Gerrie and Chris presented a very eye-opening presentation of the life of many children in Northern Ukraine and Belarus and showed how much they enjoy their brief stay in North Wales.

Thank you Gareth for organising the evening
