Chesham Rotary was pleased to welcome Sue Walton Chair of the Red Kite Schools Trust a Multi-Academy Schools Trust and the second largest employer in Chesham. The multi academy trust currently includes Chesham Grammar School, Ivingswood and Waterside Primary Schools.
The benefits to schools joining a multi-academy are significant so that the central operations of the Trust can concentrate on providing leading edge management support whilst the Schools can concentrate on teaching and learning.
Sue has been a Member, Trustee and the Chair of Red Kite Schools Trust (formerly White Hill Schools Trust) since 2015. She has extensive experience of school governance across the primary and secondary phases and is currently Chair of Governors at two local primary schools – Ivingswood Academy and Hawridge & Cholesbury CE School. She was previously a governor at Chesham Grammar School including roles as Chair and Vice Chair.
Sue has always been interested in education and her professional life has always been linked to the schools sector. Early in her career she worked in educational publishing working closely with teachers to commission materials for use in UK primary and secondary schools. She then moved into educational assessment working on national projects for the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority and the National Assessment Agency before becoming an independent consultant and project manager specialising in educational assessment.
