Madras and St Leonards pupils met in Madras Library for discussion on Peace and Conflict issues presented by Masters student William Hunter.

After the presentation the pupils split into 4 groups to give their opinions on questions posed by William.

Is there a difference between patriotism and nationalism?

How does religion, race, gender and country affect conflicts?

Many pupils from both St Leonards and Madras were of different ancestoral backgrounds, but most had lived in Britain or Scotland for some time.

The discussion made the pupils think more fully about what creates conflict in the world and if politicians and leaders are responsible for much brainwashing.
