Evening informal meeting - Gilvenbank Lounge

Thu, Feb 14th 2019 at 5:15 pm - 2:10 pm

On Thursday 14th Feb 2019 President Anne Sampson welcomed 8 Cub Rotarians and 4 Guests 3 of whom were about to be inducted into Rotary, Cllr Derek Noble, Kenny Crighton, Trevor Newman plus 1 guest Shirley Paterson to this our first informal early evening meeting which was held in the Gilvenbank Hotel, Lounge Glenrothes.

This takes us to 27 Rotarians + 4 Hon members. And we are delighted to know that we have Craig Easton awaiting induction and three other people who have forms out for completion before going out to members for approval. Linda Ballingall has also advised her intentions of returning. At today’s Shelter box stand President Anne was approached by two people about joining the club – promising.

The Young artist competition takes place this coming Wednesday 20th February at Auchmuty High School  and the Primary School Quiz is on Friday 22nd February at Auchmuty High School for 6.3pm.

Our Main Fundraiser - Sportsman’s Dinner takes place on Friday 12th April 2019 as this looks as if this will be our ONLY fundraiser this Presidential year, these funds are required for the running of the club events in 2019/2020, we would therefore stress that every effort is made by all Rotarians and guests of Rotary to once again support the event Fundraiser Iain Haywood by giving him numbers as quickly as possible.

This coming week on Thursday 21st February 2019 will be a lunch time meeting to be held at the Gilvenbank Hotel. please meet 12.45pm for starting at 12.55pm. With Ross Fisher of the local Taekwondo club giving us a talk

This Presidential Year President Anne has made a determined effort to include and Support other Organisations / Clubs in many of the events that we or they have organised and as such we have been well rewarded with great support from the Rotary clubs of Buckhaven and Methil

Dunfermline Carnegie, Leven and Ross Fisher Taekwondo Club, also well done to our New Rotarians who supported along with our existing members. This was a great undertaking over a full weekend, events like this always good fun, good fellowship and rewarding and hope you enjoyed the days. We would like to thank the Kingdom Centre management for availing us of this space and the General public who helped us raise £127.25 over the three days. with this money being sent direct to Shelterbox to assist with their projects.
