West Wales Star coming to Folly Farm

Nicky Stevens originally from Carmarthen is one of the foursome who won the Eurovision Song Contest some years ago with their number "Save Your Kisses For Me."  Brotherhood of Man still claim the  biggest winning margin ever!  They were the first winners to move and dance, something most other acts now follow. Prior to that everyone had stood still and sang. The song sold over 5 million copies and it was number one in 33 countries including the UK, where it held the top spot for 6 weeks..

The Rotary Club of Narberth & Whitland have enticed Nicky with her group to return to her home region in aid of a Charity Show mainly benefitting Cancer Research Wales and other deserving causes supported by the Rotary Club.

The Charity show will be held on Saturday 30th March 2019, starting at 7pm, at The Follies Theatre, Folly Farm, Near Narberth. Nicky, still performs with her original bandmates Lee Sheriden, Martin Lee and Sandra Stevens.

Rotarian Ken Morgan recently interviewed Nicky and she said: "We get offered TV shows abroad and stadium gigs with other 70s artists. In two weeks' time we are off to Belgium to perform in a huge Stadium with a 65-piece orchestra"

Nicky, real name Helen Thomas, was recently the subject of an ITV documentary on her life. She was a former chorister with Llanelli's Hywel Girls' Choir and was trained in singing by Llanelli-based choral and singing expert John Hywel Williams. Also trained as a classical pianist, Nicky went on to have a residency in Swansea's Townsman nightclub where another up-and-coming singer, Skewen-born Bonnie Tyler also regularly took to the stage.

Rotarian John Hughes, The Impresario for the night, has put together an interesting event featuring Brotherhood of Man as the top line with supporting acts by The Lost Voice Guy, a recent winner of Britain's Got Talent,; followed by home-grown talent  The Curveballs, rock and blues band from Pembrokeshire.

A few of the top-priced tickets remain but £25 tickets are still available.
They are available to buy  HERE.They can also be bought at Dales Music, Tenby; Rock'n Rolla Boutique, Narberth; The Creative Café, High Street, Haverfordwest. Readers are invited to join in the fun and at the same time support the worthy charity
