It was a cool but sunny day on Sunday 19th May for the 160 runners (all abilities from serious runners to novices/joggers) who took part in the 2019 10K Run on hilly country lanes between Houston, Bridge of Weir and Kilmacolm, starting at 1.00pm from Houston Public Park.

Winners were:


1st Jack Letson 34:20 (one minute faster than last year!)

2nd Peter Tucker 35:58 (35.52 last year)

3rd Craig Shields 38:25

3rd Jennifer Rooney 44:57 (42.43 last year)

Afterwards, sandwiches and cakes prepared by the Rotary ladies were served and awards were presented by Community Services Chair Ronnie Mercer, who thanked all those (led by Ian Jackson) who had organised the event and worked on the day.

Sponsorship monies are still being collected but it is expected that £5000+ will be donated to the beneficiary charity St Vincent’s Hospice. This includes £2000 given by the event sponsor Arnold Clark and £2002 sponsorship raised by Ryan Waldron who dedicated his run to his late wife who had been cared for by St Vincent’s.
