Business Meeting

Thu, Feb 7th 2019 at 1:00 pm - 2:15 pm

We had our first business meeting of the year today. Sadly we had to say goodbye to member Michael Powell, who has been a member for 16 years and is now moving to Kent to be nearer his son. People at dining tables listening to a lady speakingPresident Anne announced that one of the venue staff was retiring and another leaving after looking after us for many years. She also mentioned that she would be holding a coffee morning in her house on 23 February as part of Rotary’s Fill Your Plate for Polio initiative.

The Chairs of our committees then presented their reports (apart from the Chair of the Membership Committee, who is on holiday).

The Community & Vocation Committee reported on various donations they had agreed to make and the Club approved one recommended donation that was above the Committee’s delegated authority.

The Chair of the Youth Service Committee was able to report the results of the District Youth Speaks Intermediate Final, held yesterday evening. She also mentioned the progress being made by the Interact Club we sponsor - and that our newest member, Rtn John Scammell, had agreed to join the Youth Committee.
