Charity Golf Tournament 2018

Rochford Rotary raise funds for local charities

Chipping competition

HAVENS HOSPICES ARE THE MAIN BENEFICIARIES OF ROCHFORD ROTARY CHARITY GOLF DAY

The Rotary Club of Rochford held their 13th Annual Charity Golf Day at Rochford Hundred Golf Club on Monday 17th September 2018.

The principal objective of the day was for everyone to have a great day out in enjoyable company and raise funds for local charities, with particular emphasis on the new ‘Havens Hospice’ which is being built in Southend.

Seventeen teams took part. The competition was won by a team called ‘Mixed Bag’ which was captained by Humphrey Squier, who was supported by Rob Cruickshank, Craig Loxton and his son Jasper Squier. The individual trophy went to Trevor Hayes from the ‘Upministers’ team who scored a very creditable 43 points.

As in previous years, we were particularly fortunate to have the day actively supported by our two main sponsors ‘Alan Blunden Insurance Brokers’ of Southend and ‘Greene King Brewery’ plus a whole range of local companies and businesses, who each sponsored a hole around the course.

As a result of the efforts of the players, the sponsors, the staff at the golf club and the Rotary club members, we raised over £5,000 from the day.
