Dinner - Speaker -Keith D'wan - International sport and anti-doping

Keith will give the club an overview of his experience of International sport and anti-doping


Keith is a qualified teacher with over 36 yrs experience.  He has also been a senior youth worker who has run multiple youth clubs for Lewisham LA and implemented and established departments and awards schemes such as D of E.   
 
Keith also developed the Community Sports Leader Award as an add-on to the Basketball Coaching Award.  During his career he also worked as a case worker for CYWU and was a member of the national executive, dealing with many issues including the transfer of services and workers to Lewisham LA when ILEA ceased to exist.  He has been a school governor for 24yrs and sits on the Lewisham Schools Forum which has responsibility for decisions on funding in education in Lewisham.  In addition to this Keith has been involved in basketball at an international level for many years.  He has been an international referee, for both running and wheelchair basketball.   
 
Alongside this he sat on the South Thames Basketball Committee for over 10 yrs, and was a founder member of the EABO (English Association of Basketball Officials).  He has also run an extremely successful national league level basketball club (Malory), during which he oversaw the basketball careers of countless young people including a number of the team members now involved in this bid.  Keith is the current chair of the London regional basketball committee and has for many years been a doping control officer for Sport UK.
