Blood Pressure Screening at Wensleydale Show 2018

Wensleydale Rotarians were out in force taking blood pressures at the Wensleydale Show,as part of STROKE awareness

We are fortunate to have a doctor and nurses in our ranks to take the measurements, with other Rotarians completing paperwork and persuading people to have their pressures checked.

184 people had their BPs checked in what is surely a more relaxed atmosphere than a doctors surgery! Hopefully, this will have helped achieve accurarate results. 9 people had very high BPs and were advised to make appointments with their doctor for possible investigation and treatment soon. Others, with only moderately raised readings were advised to do so at a convenient time. Everyone was given a copy of their result so this could be given to their GP whenever they saw him/her next.
