2018 Sponsored Bike Ride

In May this year our 21st Sponsored Bike Ride was from Carlisle, via Annan and Edinburgh to Queensferry primarily for the benefit of “Donna’s Dream House” and “Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue” but also other worthy causes supported by Kirkham & Rural Fylde Rotary.

From Annan to Queensferry we followed the new Scottish CtoC route through beautiful countryside covering about 160 miles and due to excellent team work nobody got lost this time.

We were fortunate in that the weather was kind to us with no rain to talk about and very little wind; avoiding both of which have been a rarity over the years.

This year the team comprised of Phil Alcock, Dave Clark, Jim Crewdson, Raymond Green, Chris Hines, Gordon Strefford and David Thow, the bikers, plus Roger Kendrick who towed the trailer for transporting the bikes and picking up any stragglers if it should be necessary, Geoff Nye the other driver and trail-blazer and Nick Reid-Craft who attempted to navigate.

Obviously we are indebted to and wish to thank all our sponsors for their financial contributions and all our families and friends their moral support and encouragement.
