Lunch Time meeting - Council Reports

On Thursday 9th August 2018 President Anne Sampson welcomed 15 Club Rotarians to this lunch time meeting which was held at the Gilvenbank Hotel, Glenrothes. 

Four apologies for absence were received.

On reception, this week were Jim Boyd, Jack Dempsey who said grace and Peter May.

Bill Wooton brought back greetings from a Rotarian from The Rotary clubs of Hamburg whom he had met on holiday.

President Anne Sampson brought back greetings from the Assistant District Governor Heather Stuart and the Presidents and representatives of the area 8 district meeting which she and Jack Dempsey had attended last Wednesday in Kirkcaldy.

This meeting was for Council reports where the Council chairs or representatives gave an update to members on forthcoming projects and the budget and year end accounts were highlighted on power point by Walter Fletcher.

President Anne Sampson mentioned that Iain Oates would be doing the Glasgow run and he was looking to make our club the recipient of his fundraising efforts. She also mentioned that District were intending carrying out a health check with all club members done previously just by our Council members.

Discussion had taken place at Council and it was agreed the club would be involved in the District Gavel competition, arrange to organise the Clubs internal Presidents Golf competition and organise the Desert Islands discs evening.

his coming week’s meeting on Thursday 16th August 2018 will be a lunch time meeting to be held at the Gilvenbank Hotel. please meet 12.45pm for starting at 12.55pm on reception, will be Walter Fletcher, May Ford and Peter May, our speaker this week will be Parish Associate David Murdoch of Markinch Parish Church.
