Frugal meal plus music from Sikh Temple at Howley Hall Golf Club

  "End Polio Now" Frugal meal evening

On Mon 1st Oct the club held a Sikh Temple Music evening hosted by Rotarian Robert Jackson to raise money for the End Polio Now campaign which Robert promotes for District 1040.

The evening started with drinks and a frugal meal of soup sandwiches and fries.  Rotarians and friends then assembled,  Robert gave a short update about the world state of Polio.    
He reported the total 2018 cases were 18 cases of
wild polio viruses and 53 cVDPv cases    
He thanked DC Elect Manoj Joshi and wife and 
Rotarians from Pontefract Mirfield Batley and
Leeds Rotary Clubs and others for attending. 
Rotarians and friends then listened to Batley Rotarian Makhan Dhesi  who played his Harmonium  for
Sikh Temple Music.
Finally Robert drew the raffle which made £155 and President Jeremy thanked Makhan for his visit.
He also thanked Robert for organising the evening

Good news from Robert the evening raised over
£500 
from the 46 attendees.This will be made
up to over £1500 with Bill Gates contribution.

 Makhan talked about his harmonium.
