Bill McGregor - “Macpuff 1 - The West

Thu, Mar 7th 2019 at 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Bill will be talking to us on Thursday 7th March.

There is a Club Council after this meeting.

Steam trains were the subject of interest at Kilmarnock Rotary Club last night. Member Bill McGregor confirmed his knowledge of all things transport in a fascinating and nostalgic talk on the lost trains and railways of Scotland. Accompanied by some fine photographs, Bill described how steam trains were classified, the routes they plied and the loads they carried. The photographs of now demolished stations were of particular interest. A very entertaining and informative look at a bygone age.
