Celebrate Kilmarnock: Community-led Regeneration
Andy tells us - “Born and bred in Ayrshire, educated and matured in the Royal Marines and picked up my formal paperwork from both Strathclyde and Glasgow. I’ve been a community organisers for 20 years, in various roles and on a couple of continents – I like to travel. I learnt my trade in the East End of Glasgow, honed it in Massachusetts and for the last couple of years I’ve been fortunate enough to work alongside some very, good people developing Celebrate Kilmarnock.
I’m passionate about what I do and I “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed, citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.” Margaret Mead, Cultural Anthropologist. I’m also passionate in my belief that Kilmarnock is a town with much to offer and that what’s required to turn the town around is already here and accessible.”
On the web site: Celebrate Kilmarnock is currently updating its branding so the web site is dated but people can check out@celebratekillie although again this will only give a flavour. A communication strategy is being develop and will coincide with the opening of the new Celebrate Kilmarnock office space on King Street – we’ve been holding back a lot of material.
