Club Meeting — The Rev Dom Ind

Tue, Oct 16th 2018 at 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Lesley Kennedy invited the Rev Dom Ind, the new Rector of St Michael's Scottish Episcopal Church in Helensburgh, to speak, and Graham Smith gave the vote of thanks.

President Mike Jane welcomed twelve other members, rotarian guest Liz Talbot from the Bedford de Parys club, and guest speaker the Rev Dom Ind, the new Rector of St Michael and All Angels Scottish Episcopal Church in Helensburgh, whose talk was arranged by Lesley Kennedy.

Derek Hall reported that there had been a good response to next year's club spring trip from Wednesday to Sunday April 24-28, with the majority preferring Alicante to Krakow as the venue. He asked anyone else interested to email him as soon as possible.

Foundation convener Alastair Wilson reported that the Purple4Polio crocus quorms had arrived, and the planting season was approaching. He will be in touch with members about their requirements and any local good causes which might benefit.

Mr Ind, whose mother was a theologian and father was from a family of clergy, gave an insight into his personal journey with Interfaith dialogue, and said that today this was about actions, commitment, and learning to ask the right questions. He was thanked for his thought-provoking address by Graham Smith.

The weekly raffle for a whisky miniature was won by Bill Deans.
