Football inspiring the young

Burton Rotary Club Shield was won by Lichfield Falcons and the under 12s Cup by Kick Off Coaching

Under 11s and 12s BACT Summer Football Tournament

sponsored by the Rotary Club of Burton upon Trent

Replacing our previous Inter-District Football Competition (see below), and played under 7 a side rules, the competition attracted many teams from local clubs.

Squads consisted of up to 10 players of either sex with a team of 7 on the field at any one time. Players were either under 11 or under 12 on 31st August of the preceding year; the only restriction was that they were not Football Academy players. After an initial 'round robin', the top four in each group progressed to the semi-final.

Matches were played at the end of July at Pirelli Stadium home of Burton Albion FC. Under 11s played for the Rotary Club of Burton upon Trent Shield, and the Under 12s for the Burton Rotary Club Cup. Medals and trophies were presented by Club President Mel Thomas.

The Under 12s Inter-District Football Competition, organised by the Rotary Club of Burton upon Trent, was held each year between 2012 and 2018, attracting teams from many parts of the country. The National Finals were played in early June at St George's Park, the home of English Football.
