RotaKids

We have two RotaKids clubs, based in two of our local Primary schools. It is never too early to start making a difference in the community and RotaKids give those aged 7 - 12 the chance to do just that...

The primary AIM of RotaKids is to provide young people aged between 7 and 12 years old with the opportunity to participate enthusiastically to improve the quality of life for their school, local and overseas communities.

RotaKids builds self-esteem, develops leadership skills and involves young people to community service through Rotary.

RotaKids is for the youngest members of the Rotary GB&I family. It also increases Rotary awareness and gives an understanding of Rotary values and ideals of service to parents of RotaKids.

RotaKids take the following Pledge to demonstrate their commitment to being good citizens.

“As a RotaKid I endeavour to be fair to all, to serve my community and show respect for others.”

The Rotary Club of Dumfries sponsors two RotaKids Clubs.

Troqueer Primary School RotaKids was Chartered in November 2015.
Locharbriggs Primary School RotaKids was Chartered in October 2018.

It is expected that around 30 pupils from the two schools will become part of the Rotary family this school term.
