Rotary club of Stirling meeting of 15th March 2019.
President Sandy Farquharson welcomed members and Stuart Heaney, guest of Tom Thomson, to a business meeting. The annual barbecue will be on Saturday 1st June. Sandy reported on matters discussed at last week's club council. He has been in discussion with neighbouring clubs about a possible joint project to raise money for Leprosy care in Nepal and has found considerable interest. A large project would attract matching grants from Rotary Foundation, greatly increasing the scope of the work
which would be possible. The meeting approved donations to Let Us
Shine, an established educational project in Ghana associated with retired GP Dr Mary Higgins, Forth Valley Disability Sport, and a project to teach CPR to nurses in Zambia.
Treasurer Edmund Mansion presented the up to date accounts which were approved. The AM/AM on Friday 24th May is progressing well with several teams already entered. We aim for a maximum of 26 teams.
Next meeting 22nd March Speaker's host Alan Rankine, Visitor's host Jim Kerr.
