I am sending out this invite to our second social out evening which takes
place on THURSDAY 20th SEPTEMBER and hope to see you sign up.
The
walk will be in and around one of the islands three Mirus battery
installations in St Peters (I have checked with WHO and they have confirmed
it is safe to travel there!). This particular battery was only recently
cleared by Festung Guernsey and so is a first opportunity to see this site
now cleaned up. Something I think is not to be missed, these batteries are
huge underground and well worth a look.
Further details will
follow when I have them, but the walks usually start at 6.00 (location for
parking to follow) and then we will have a meal at Drftwood at about 7.30 (2
courses as usual, menu to follow when I have it
plus price).
As
Festung Guernsey are not a charity and this event will involve a few of them
I will be asking for £5.00 from each person which will go towards a donation
made on the night for them to use in their great work within the island.
Nearer the time I will ask attendees for a £5.00 note before the event if
possible (always embarrassing colleting a tip on the night).
Hope that
all makes sense? There are 25 spaces available, so book early.
