The Guernsey Welfare Service are an independent Christian charity started in 1896 and their management team, chaired by the Rev Jon Honour, has representatives from a number of churches.

They are supported by many denominations of church on the Island including Baptist, Church of England, Methodist, New Frontiers, Catholics and Salvation Army in both practical and prayerful ways.

They are registered charity number 020 with the Association of Guernsey Charities.

They work with a variety of people who find themselves in financial need.

This includes single-parent families, pensioners, people with disabilities or long-term medical conditions and families on low incomes who may find themselves with unexpected medical or household bills that put them in financial difficulty.
