Aubrey Allen Award

The annual Aubrey Allen Award was started many years ago by a then member of the Rotary Club of Sherborne. He was unsurprisingly called Aubrey Allen and he wanted to encourage and reward young people of school age to take part in activities outside the school curriculum especially those helping others.  Each year the Club seeks two nominations from The Gryhpon School, who are each awarded book tokens to the value of £40.

The 2018 winners were two year 13 pupils Charlotte Allen and George Goodfellow, who together with Head Teacher Nicki Edwards and Head of Year 13, Dr Tony Otto attended the Club’s Dinner Meeting on June 11th, to receive their chosen books.

Dr Tony Otto introduced the two winners, who then both gave a short presentation to Club on their community projects and activities that led to their nominations and on why they chose the books that they did.
