President's

President Stephen arranged an afternoon tea at Horton Grange to mark the approaching end of his Presidential year. It proved a very enjoyable occasion with excellent weather for drinks in the garden beforehand.

Horton Grange served a superb afternoon tea with sandwiches, scones and cakes to a party of thirty-three including club members and their guests. President Stephen presented a Paul Harris Fellow award to Heather Niven, who was for many years the Chief Executive of the Newcastle Society for Blind People (NSBP), for her oustanding commitment and service in line with Rotary ideals. The NSBP, know called Newcastle Vision Support, has a long-standing connection with our Rotary Club. One of their regular events in the past was an outing to Whitley Bay and we provided the funding for the transport.

Paul Harris Fellowship awards were also presented to Club Members, past presidents Jo Robertson and Peter Firth for their exceptional service to Rotary.
