Rotary's International Activities

Rotary in Wells is part of the global Rotary International, working with other clubs to eradicate polio, to help with other natural disasters, and to help those less fortunate than ourselves elsewhere in the world

The PolioPlus campaign has been a major feature of Rotary's international activities and details of the latest figures can be found at http://polioeradication.org/polio-today/polio-now/.

Rotary in Wells is also active in supporting the Shelterbox and Water Survival Box Charities, to get emergency support to devastated areas as quickly as possible, sending groups to help with the packing of the boxes, as well as raising money to buy the contents.

The Reaching the Unreached charity, working in a poor rural area of Tamil Nadu, Southern India, is the object of fundraising for a hostel to permit teenage boys to continue their education when they are unable to live at home, for whatever reason.
