Board Meeting, July 13th:

            The minutes of the Board Meeting of July 13th have been circulated.   

Walk for Water Presentation:

            Walk4Water raised approximately £3,600 which will be doubled by    matchfunding before it goes to the project in Nigeria.           Congratulations         to Joe Wade of Blean Primary School who was given a special certificate      for raising £142.20.    The presentations were attended by:

Meal Steward:

            The Handover Meeting on June 27th will be Godfrey’s last as Meal Steward    as Lesley will be taking over with effect from July 4th after which please contact Lesley on 07552 051002 by 5.00 pm on the Tuesday prior to the            meeting or by email (lesleyann.robertson@gmail.com) by 5.00 pm on the             previous Sunday

Raffle Prizes:

   Jean is still short of raffle prizes and needs some more urgently.

Visit from Apeldoorn, June 7th to 9th:

            Andrew B. has received a big ‘thank you’ from Erik in Apeldoorn for their     visit.    The Club visit to Apeldoorn next year will  be in May to coincide   with their VE celebrations.

Barn Dance, Saturday, June 15th:

            The Barn Dance was a great success and raised over £900.00.     Especial      thanks are due to Robert M. and Jean M. who provided the food, to Jean S.            who organised the raffle and to Jean’s son, Tom, who ran the bar.

Sunday, June 23rd – Samba Band Walk:

            More help is need with collecting on Sunday, June 23rd when the Samba         Band will play along the seafront leaving Whitstable Harbour at 1.00 pm for Seaview Caravan Park where there will be a beach BBQ with     donations towards the cost of the food.    The walk will be in support of         Pilgrim’s Hospice and Open Your Heart to Bhutan.

Thursday, July 27th – Handover Meeting:

            The Handover Meeting, when Pat will hand over the Presidency of the           Club to Sue, will be next Thursday evening, July 27th at 7.00 for 7.30 pm  at          the Golf Club.     The cost of the dinner at the Handover Meeting will be    £17.50 per person. This will be a normal meeting of the Club when     everyone is expected to attend unless they send apologies to Godfrey      as        usual.

Weekend of June 22nd and 23rd – Visit to Windsor and Hampton Court:

            RC Whitstable is organizing a weekend trip to Windsor and Hampton             Court with an overnight stay.    Places are still available and if anyone is   interested please contact Kathy as soon as possible (Tel: 01227 652498          Mob: 0796 907 3715 Email: kathrynwilson365 @gmail.com).

Saturday, June 29th – Car Parking:

            The next car parking will be on Saturday, June 29th and Godfrey needs           more volunteers.

Monday, July 1st – Everyday Dermatology:

            The Friends of Whitstable Hospital and Healthcare have organised an            evening talk by Dr. White, GP, on how to care for you and your skin.    The talk will be at the Parish Social Centre, Northwood Road, Whitstable, CT5          2EY starting at 10.00 am.

Tuesday, July 9th – Invitation from Herne Bay Rotary Club:

            The Club has been invited to a private viewing of the exhibition in the            Seaside Museum, Herne Bay on the Rotary Club of Herne Bay’s Telly-Go- Round.      There will be a short talk by Nigel Isom, President of Herne Bay        Rotary Club and wine and nibbles will be provided at cost of £5.00 pp.                There will then be a joint meal at the A La Turka Restaurant starting at          8.00 pm at a cost of  £16.00 pp.    Numbers are limited so please sign-up        soon on the form in the folder.

Raffle:

   Sue won a bottle of organic (?) prosecco. 

Master of Alms:

   Nick was at it again and we can only guess what the visiting      schoolchildren made of it.
