Minutes of the Business Meeting

Held on Thursday, April 18th 2019

                                             At The Golf Club, Chestfield

Board Meeting, April 11th :

            The minutes of the recent Board meeting have been circulated.

Pippa:

            Pippa fell and broke her wrist while on holiday in Spain and things have        not gone well as she will need another operation in order to fix it.              She thanked the Club for the card and flowers and has everyone’s best         wishes for a swift recovery.

Maureen:

            Maureen fell off her bike recently but was not badly hurt.    The bicycle is      doing well.

Treasurer:

            David M. reported that he has recent paid £1,000 from Gift Aid to the             Rotary Polio campaign and the contribution of £500 agreed by the Club to        the appeal for an off-road wheelchair for Thomas Mumford.

International:

            There will be a meeting of the International Committee this evening.

Sunday, April 14th – Car Parking at Whitstable:

   The car parking on April 14th went well despite the weather and raised          £217.36.

Friday, April 12th – Celebrate the Success of Open Your Heart to Bhutan:

            Pat, Sue and Andrew B. represented the Club at the evening to celebrate        Open Your Heart to Bhutan.

Tuesday, April 23rd – Raid on RC Sandwich:

            Thirteen have signed-up for the Raid on RC Sandwich at 7.00 for 7.30 pm      at the Bell Hotel.   The cost will be £15.00 per person.

Saturday, April 27th – TWAM Collection:

   There are just enough volunteers for the TWAM collection and Andrew B.    asked that if anyone who drops out please make sure that they find      someone to replace them.

Sunday, May 26th – Car Parking at Whitstable and Stroke Awareness Day:

            Please note the new date for Stroke Awareness Day.   There is a revised        form in the folder and volunteers are needed both for car parking and to         take blood pressures.

Weekend, June 7th to 9th – Visit from Apeldoorn:

            Andrew B. reminded everyone who has signed-up that the numbers   signed-up for events in the folder are now final and as he now has to pay     the venues for participation there may be a cost for anyone who drops     out.       He is hoping to be able to announce the venue for the farewell           breakfast shortly.

Sunday, June 23rd – Samba Band

On Sunday, June 23rd the Samba Band will be doing another seaside walk starting at Whitstable Harbour at 1.00 pm and walking to Seaview Caravan Park for a BBQ.     Help is needed to collect donations and there will be a form in the folder.

Raffle:

Lesley won a plant and David B. made off with some chocolates.

Master of Alms:

In Nick’s absence. Pat fined everyone.
