Best wishes to Elaine for her birthday on Sunday.

David and Anne Bowley:
Jackie has been in touch with David and Anne. Thanks to help from Jean M, David’s mobility is slowly improving and he is hoping to be able to walk soon with sticks instead of the Zimmer. However, he has had some very disappointing news that his driving licence has been taken away. Anne, of course, worries a lot about David and is not too well herself. They are both hoping to be at the Christmas Dinner and would be glad to see visitors or have calls.
Lesley Robertson:
Lesley described her work as a volunteer with Haven Project which provides support for the local homeless. There are an estimated 48 rough sleepers in Whitstable who are living on the streets or in cars and most of them are very vulnerable.. The Haven project is a registered charity based in the Methodist Church Hall in Argyle Road, Whitstable and provides the homeless with hot food, drinks and and shower facilities on Mondays and Wednesdays between 2.00 and 4.00 pm. The Haven Project does get help from other charities such as Porchlight, Catching Lives and the Food Bank but would also welcome donations of food, warm clothing, backpacks and sleeping bags.
Friday, December 7th - Christmas Dinner:
The Christmas Dinner tomorrow evening will be at 7.00 for 7.30 pm when a welcoming glass of prosecco will be waiting. The dress code is Christmassy at least on the outside i.e. Santa boxer shorts do not count. Carriages at 10.30 pm.
Sunday, December 9th – Christmas Collection:
The cards have all been delivered around Chestfield and the annual Christmas Collection will be held on Sunday, December 9th meeting at Primrose Way, off Chestfield Road at 4.00 pm where there is plenty of parking and Santa will be waiting. Elves are very welcome but remember to wrap up warm and bring a torch. Robert and Gill Sissons will kindly provide a mince pie and mulled wine at their house about half way round.
Monday, December 10th – Sorting and Packing the Food Collection
Jean and Andrew have very kindly made their home available once again for sorting and packing the Christmas collection from 2.00 pm onwards on Monday, December 10th and help will be welcome. Their address is Willow Cottage, Church Street, Whitstable, CT5 1PG.
Sunday, December 23rd – Car Parking at Whitstable:
Please don’t forget that we are running the car parking on Sunday, December 23rd when it should be very busy and Godfrey will need all the help he can get especially in the afternoon. Please sign up to help even if you can only do a little while.
Friday, December 28th - Breakfast at the Lounge, Tankerton:
Please note the change of date to Friday, December 28th. Guests are welcome and the cost will be £8.50 per person. Please let David M. know today if you have not signed on the form in the folder and would like to come along as he has to give numbers to the Lounge.
Layout of Tables at Breakfast:
The Golf Club wants to encourage more of its members to use the restaurant area for coffees and meals which is why they have laid the tables out differently. It will not be easy to move the tables backwards and forwards and it was felt that the Club could live with it, at least for a while, and to see how it goes.
Raffle:
Maureen won a bottle of mulled wine.
Master of Alms:
With the pantomime behind him, Nick and his little car were back and just about everyone was caught for something.
