Whitstable Harbour Day, Saturday, August 11th:

The Club has booked space at the Whitstable Harbour Day and Godfrey demonstrated his very impressive Splat the Rat which received suggestions all round only some of which were any use.      Sue made off with the three rats.      The cost will be 3 rats for £1.00 with lucky dip prizes.

Car Parking, Saturday, August 25th:

Godfrey stressed that more help is needed as it really needs four people at a time for car parking to work smoothly. Godfrey is currently not getting enough support and he is concerned as to whether the Club can meet this commitment if more helpers do not come forward.     The next car parking is on Saturday, August 14th when numbers are bound to be depleted during the holiday season so please sign up to help even if you can only spare an hour or so.

District Conference, September 7th to 9th 2018

Armistice Dinner, Thursday, November 8th:

Ron put a suggestion to the Club to organize an evening Armistice Dinner at the Golf Club to commemorate the centenary of the end of WWI on Thursday, November 8th.   This was agreed and it was decided that the dress code should be black tie or lounge suit.    The cost will be £25 per person for a three-course dinner with a suggested WWI menu of vegetable soup, beef and gammon carvery followed by bread and butter pudding.  Guests would be very welcome but the maximum capacity of the Golf Club for dinner is 50 so please sign up soon.    It was further agreed to try to get a speaker to talk on WWI.
