Rotary Day to promote world peace and understanding

February 23rd is celebrated within Rotary as 'Rotary Day', marking the start of our organisation by Paul Harris. This year it is our 113th birthday. It's also called World Understanding and Peace Day. We strive as an organisation of 1.2m people around the world to build goodwill, peace and understanding among everyone around the world. Respect for people is at the forefront of our values!

This year we think in particular about the huge strides that have been made in our effort to end the disease of polio.
